A BITE OF BRISBANE

 Quick trip to Brisbane last weekend for a work conference. Unfortunately I was stuck in a hotel whole days so not much to report... Having said that, I didn't miss any tiny chances to take some photos or pick a couple places I could introduce to you:)

Friday afternoon, beautiful sunny day in Sydney. 

We checked-in and made our way to the Virgin Australia Premium Lounge! 

Thanks to my boss who always takes me there:-) 

They have just re-established the whole floor. 

Simple but still modern, very spacey and great view of the Sydney airport. 

And I have to tell you about the bathroom!!!! 

If you have a chance to go to the lounge, please use this bathroom lol 

All very modern unit bathrooms, even amenities are very cute - a little extra luxury with beautiful "orglamic" Australian made and owned skincare products by GROWN

Of course, complimentary food and beverages:-) 

So many choices to choose from. I had my usual soy latte and cookies.... yum. 

I would have a glass of champagne if it was a night flight.... damn it. 

Okay, time to fly to Brisbane!!! 

Once we landed, we went to straight to South Bank. 

Last time I came in to Brisbane was..... 3-4 years ago. 

Feel different... everything is new and very cool. So many restaurants, bars and cafes. 

There was a market going on along the river too - lovely :-) 

We checked in at the Rydges South Bank where the conference was held. 

It's a 4.5 stars hotel, it looks better than the one in Sydney. 

They just renovated whole building too, maybe staffs too? Or is this a QLD thing? So many good looking boys are working this hotel :p 

The cafe, my room, conference rooms and meeting rooms, everything is very stylish:-) 

And they even have a pool bar!! At night, the hotel changes the face. 

So many dressed-up young people come to have parties. 

Once thing I realised in Brisbane, they dressed-up so well! 

Maybe it was Friday night? Or do they just dressed up? I saw so many pretty dresses and shoes over the weekend. 

I wished I could join the crowd at the pool bar.... but no complain. 

Because I was off to the famous Turkish Restaurant "Ahmet's"!

ちょっと時間が空いてしまいましたぁ。。なぜかというと、仕事で先週末はさくっとﾌﾞﾘｽﾍﾞﾝ行ってたんです。金曜のお昼から日曜の夜まで、ほとんど仕事であまり自由時間はなかったんですが、ちゃんと紹介したい所の写真は撮ってきましたょ☆

めちゃくちゃいい天気のｼﾄﾞﾆｰ、空港に着いてすぐｳﾞｧｰｼﾞﾝのﾌﾟﾚﾐｱﾑﾗｳﾝｼﾞに直行♪

うちのﾎﾞｽに感謝です。だいたいの出張はﾗｳﾝｼﾞに連れて行ってもらえて出発までいっつもゆっくりできます♪♪

ｳﾞｧｰｼﾞﾝのﾗｳﾝｼﾞ、ここ最近ﾘﾉﾍﾞｲﾄされて、とってもﾓﾀﾞﾝで綺麗になりました☆ｽﾍﾟｰｽもゆったりしてて、景色も最高。そんなでもっていつもそんなに混んでないのがいい！

そしてなんと言っても、ﾄｲﾚがめちゃくちゃｷﾚｲo(>ω<*)o 

全室ｼｬﾜｰ付き。ﾀｵﾙもちゃんと貸してもらえるし、ｱﾒﾆﾃｨにもちょっとした拘りが♡

ｵｰｽﾄﾗﾘｱのﾌﾞﾗﾝﾄﾞ『ｸﾞﾗｳﾝ』っていう、ｵｰｶﾞﾆｯｸﾌﾟﾛﾀﾞｸﾄ用意されてます♡♡

めちゃくちゃ可愛い！ｸﾞﾗｳﾝの商品はｳｪﾌﾞからも買えますが、ﾃﾞｰﾋﾞｯﾄﾞｼﾞｮｰﾝｽﾞなどにも売ってますょ〜！

もちろん、ﾄﾞﾘﾝｸも軽食もすべて用意されてます☆そして、けっこー美味しい！

ｺｰﾋｰもちゃんとｿｰｲﾐﾙｸで作ってくれるし、朝はﾊﾟﾝ､ｼﾘｱﾙの種類も豊富だし、夜はあったかいｽｰﾌﾟとかも用意してくれる本格的ﾗｳﾝｼﾞ☆国内線にしてはちゃんとしてるー！

さ、ﾌﾞﾘｽﾍﾞﾝへ出発→

ﾌﾞﾘｽﾍﾞﾝは3−4年ぶり！なんか雰囲気がめちゃくちゃかわってる;´･ω-)

確実におしゃれになってます。今回は仕事がｻｳｽﾊﾞﾝｸなので、この周辺行動のみ。が、めちゃくちゃﾚｽﾄﾗﾝ､ｶﾌｪ､ﾊﾞｰが増えてる！！！！しかも、どのお店もいい感じ♪ 

今回の滞在先ﾚｯｼﾞｽ ｻｳｽﾊﾞﾝｸは4.5☆。ここも、最近ﾘﾉﾍﾞｰｼｮﾝされてとってもﾓﾀﾞﾝ！ｼﾄﾞﾆｰのﾚｯｼﾞｽよりも全然ﾚﾍﾞﾙ高い！

。。。。それにしても、かっこいい運転手にﾎﾞｰｲさん、受付ﾎﾞｰｲやら、、QLDだからでしょうか？やけに、多いなかっこいいﾏｯﾁｮ（笑）

部屋も会議室も何もかもがいい感じぃ♪おしゃれな家具に大人しめの色図使い！参考にしたい！！！

しかも、ここ、ﾌﾟｰﾙﾊﾞｰがあるんです☆金曜日のよるだからか、めちゃくちゃおしゃれした若者がぞくぞくとﾌﾟｰﾙﾊﾞｰへ入っていきます。。。いいなぁ。。いいなぁ。。。仲間に入りたいなぁ。。と、思いながら、今夜はﾎﾞｽと二人でﾄﾙｺ料理食べに行きまーーーす♪ここ行きたかったﾚｽﾄﾗﾝだし、ﾌﾟｰﾙﾊﾞｰはまた今度でいっか☆

STICKY BAR & MAMAK - Saturday Night Out -

Before getting into the famous Mamak, how about I tell you about little Sticky Bar in Surry Hills?? 

Last Saturday I left my girls in the city and  went out other friends for a couple of drinks.

Sticky Bar is a very small hidden bar in Surry Hills - you need to know how to get this place otherwise you would never find it. Sticky Bar opened in 2006, since then it has changed a lot.  I love the atmosphere the room, antique furniture, you feel like you are in European somewhere. 

I haven't had meal there yet but apparently it's pretty good:-) 

Especially if you go mid week, you get pretty good deal.

I am thinking....... to go there tomorrow!

After a couple of drinks, I was so hungry. Time was just past 9:30. 

Not many places we could grab a bite in this time = CHINA TOWN here we come. 

Famous 1 hat Malaysian restaurant "Mamak". 

Normally we have to wait 30min-1hour easily, but coming Saturday night around 10pm wasn't a bad idea:-) We could get our table straight away!  

I love seeing them making awesome roti! Very entertaining:-)

Today we had .....

• Roti canai $5.5  (The original roti. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Served with 2 curry dips and spicy sambal sauce.)
• Chicken Satay $9.0 (Grilled over flaming charcoal for that authentic Malaysian flavour. Served with a sweet and spicy peanut sauce.) 
• Roti tisu $9.5 (Paper-thin, extra-crispy and served tall) 

YUM YUM YUMMMMMM!! 

Fantastic flavours, delicious!! I just love love love this Roti:-) Roti could be soft as savoury/sweet dishes, but could be very crispy as a desert:-) Roti tisu is the MUST have desert. 

Try going there early or late to avoid the long queues!

こんばんわぁ☆さてさて、先週の土曜日の詳細です！

女子会の後、ｼﾃｨｰからｻﾘｰﾋﾙｽﾞに移動。ｽﾃｨｯｷｰﾊﾞｰに軽く飲みに行ったよん♪

ｼﾄﾞﾆｰで小さいﾊﾞｰが出来始めた2006年にｵｰﾌﾟﾝした、隠れ家ﾊﾞｰ。知ってました？

ここ、知ってないとたどりつきません（笑）

ｸﾗｳﾝｽﾄｰﾘﾄから一歩入ったｽﾄﾘｰﾄのﾋﾞﾙの中、更に階段も上がらないと！ｸﾞｰｸﾞﾙﾏｯﾌﾟ片手に行ってみて♪そんなに大きなﾊﾞｰではないけれど、最近のﾊﾞｰにしては天井も広くって、ｿﾌｧｰもいっぱいあるのでくつろげます☆

ここ、実は下にﾚｽﾄﾗﾝがあって、水曜日と木曜日はなかなかいいお値段で３ｺｰｽがいただけます☆あと、ﾊﾞｰでも水曜日は$１５でﾛｰｽﾄ食べれたり、平日ﾒﾆｭｰがお得☆

やって来たのは、ｼﾄﾞﾆｰでは超有名ﾏﾚｰｼｱﾝﾚｽﾄﾗﾝ『ﾏﾏｯｸ』←１ﾊｯﾄです。いつも行列で、30分〜１時間待ちは当たり前だけど、さすがにこの時間はすぐに席につけました☆（でも、めっちゃ忙しい）作りたてのﾛﾃｨ+.(*’v`*)+美味しすぎる！

今回は定番のﾛﾃｨ(ｶﾚｰ２種類が出てきます）＄5.5って安い！

How could I miss this? - NEVER. 

My colleagues went there on Friday lunch time and brought a couple of jeans back to the office. They were saying not many things were there.... but who cares? I couldn't wait!!! 

SATURDAY... storming in Sydney, not having a car, living in Inner West didn't help at all. 

So I decided to stay with my girls in the city instead.

I had such high expectations,  I was SO disappointed.... :-(

These pants below are the only one I tried on. 

These pants were really cute and I loved the print but I wasn't sure it was for me. 

Only $90, great discount, but I didn't get it. 

I would have purchased if the style was more like harem pants. It was straight and pretty short... I wasn't confident enough to coordinate these pants with anything else:-( 

Everything else was also same, good prices but not for me. 

Awwwwww!!!!! 

I really wanted to get something though!!!!!!! Ha...... next time:-( 

Next one is...... FASHION WEEKEND! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

ｼﾄﾞﾆｰ在住の方は行きましたか？ｻｽ＆ﾊﾞｲﾄﾞの卸ｾｰﾙ?先週末、木曜日から日曜日まで期間限定のｾｰﾙ｡同僚達は私を置いて（ﾊﾟｽﾎﾟｰﾄの交付で領事館行ってたんですが。。）、金曜日のお昼休みに行ってました。２人とも、ｼﾞｰﾝｽﾞ２本づつ買ってって、あんまりなかったよぉーとは言ってたけど、早く行きたくてｳｽﾞｳｽﾞ｡｡｡｡｡

土曜日の朝に行こうと予定してたので、早めに置きます。。。が、めっちゃ雨降ってるし（涙）車がないので、行きたくないです。。。明日にしよっと。

なので、恒例の女子会今週２回目、日本人の方にはお馴染み、｢東ｶﾌｪ｣行ってきました♡

もちろん、ｹｰｷｾｯﾄです。前は$6.90だったｾｯﾄはｼﾌｫﾝｹｰｷでも普通のｹｰｷでも$8.90に値上がりしてるしっ！ちょっとｼｮｯｸ｡

が、ﾓﾝﾌﾞﾗﾝはめっちゃ美味しいかったぁ〜♡♡先週もｵｰｼｬﾝﾙｰﾑでﾓﾝﾌﾞﾗﾝ食べたばっかなのに。。。大好きなんです！ﾍﾍﾍｯ

それにしても、東ｶﾌｪって、日本に居るような感じで、女の子同士だととっても居心地がよくってついつい長居してしまいます。たぶん。。。3−4時間ｹｰｷｾｯﾄだけ居続けた（笑）

さて、首をながーーーくして、待った日曜日。快晴。買い物日和☆

めちゃくちゃ期待して、ｾｰﾙ会場に乗り込みました！

あれ？？。。。。。。。ｶﾗｶﾗじゃん？

でっかい会場にﾎﾟﾂﾝとﾗｯｸ達が置いてありました。ｻｲｽﾞも大きいｻｲｽﾞしか残っていなかったり、金額をﾀｸﾞでなく商品のﾗﾍﾞﾙに直接書いちゃってたり、いくらｾｰﾙ品でも、ひどい扱い（涙）ただ一つ、柄と素材の好きなﾊﾟﾝﾂを発見、試着しましたが、ｽﾀｲﾙがどーもいまいちで、、ｻｽﾊﾞｲで$90っていう、めちゃくちゃ値引きしてあったにも関わらず断念。花のﾌﾟﾘﾝﾄ可愛かったし、あともーちょっとだったのに。。。。ｽﾄﾚｰﾄで少し短め。ｼﾞｬｹｯﾄと合わしてもあまりよくなっかった（涙）

他の物もそんな感じで、めっちゃｼｮｯｸ｡｡｡｡買い物できると思って、めちゃくちゃ張り切って行ったのに。何か買いたくって、ｲﾗｲﾗ｡｡｡｡

次は。。。ﾌｧｯｼｮﾝｳｨｰｸｴﾝﾄﾞか。あと3週間, 我慢できるのか？

で、家に帰って、少し、調べてみると、ｻｽﾊﾞｲのｻｲﾄのｾｰﾙのが全然よかったっていう、ｵﾁ（笑）でも、卸ｾｰﾙは行かなきゃ、わかんないもんね☆

TO CHOCOLATE LOVERS - Adora Home Chocolates

Once I got the warehouse, I smelled beautiful chocolates and found lots of lots of chocolates!!! 

OMG it's HEAVEN!!!! 

The class started learning about chocolate history, a story of recent trip to Ghana to the benefits of good quality chocolate. The class was nice and small, like 10 people, we introduced each other in the beginning, nice friendly environment:-) Adora aprons were already on the table for us, wear a hair cap, wash hands and let's start making beautiful truffles! 

The recipe is so simple - basically you need only unsalted butter, dark chocolate and condensed milk, Mix it together, use piping bag and make any shapes you like, put into the fridge and wait until they're set. 

Finally coating with natural cocoa powder or dark chocolate sliced, Bola! Beautiful truffles in your mouth :-) ahhh melting in your mouth.... 

The class is 2 hours and not only you get to bring back your gorgeous truffles but also you get a goodie bag!  

Such a great experience! They do also have another class, chocolate tempering class for more advanced. Check it out :-)

ちょっとこのｱﾄﾞﾗ ﾎｰﾑﾒｲﾄﾞ ﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄについてお話しますと。。。ｼﾄﾞﾆｰに住むﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄ大好きなｷﾞﾘｼｬ人の姉妹が1993年にﾊﾟｰﾄﾀｲﾑとして始めたﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄｼｮｯﾌﾟが始まりで、防腐剤、着床料、人工的に作られた香辛料とかなしのまったく新しいﾅﾁｭﾗﾙﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄｼｮｯﾌﾟとしてｼﾄﾞﾆｰで大人気となり、2011年までにｼﾄﾞﾆｰで３店舗もｼｮｯﾌﾟが広がりました☆

最近、本社がﾏﾘｯｸﾋﾞﾙに移動して、ﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄ作りのｸﾗｽが再開☆早速、参加してきちゃいましたぁ！ｷｯﾁﾝに入った瞬間、広がる甘いﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄの香り。。。と、大量のﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄ!!!!!たまらん！

今回は初心者ｸﾗｽ 『ﾊﾞｰﾀｰﾄﾘｭﾌ』

このｸﾗｽ､10人くらいの少人数で、とってもﾌﾚﾝﾄﾞﾘｰな雰囲気☆ただﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄを作るだけじゃなくって、ｱﾄﾞﾗの歴史から、ﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄの歴史、最近行ったｶﾞｰﾅ旅行の話、ﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄの良さなどなどいろいろ習えちゃうんです。

ﾚｼﾋﾟは超ｼﾝﾌﾟﾙ☆塩分なしのﾊﾞﾀｰに溶かしたﾀﾞｰｸﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄとｺﾝﾃﾞﾝﾂﾐﾙｸ(生ｸﾘｰﾑの場合も）を混ぜ合わして、絞り袋を使って好きな形にします。それらを、冷蔵庫に入れて、ちょっと固めたら、あとは純ｺｺｱとか削ったﾁｮｺﾚｰﾄｽﾗｲｽなどでｺｰﾃｨﾝｸﾞ♪出来上がり♪

口の中でとろけますぅ〜♡美味しいぃぃ〜♡♡

そして、更に更にうれしいのが、作ったﾁｮｺだけじゃなくって、お土産ももらえちゃうっていう！超お得☆いい経験ですょぉ！

上級者にはﾃﾝﾊﾟﾘﾝｸﾞのｸﾗｽもあるみたい！

GIRLS NIGHT OUT @OCEAN ROOM - Autumn Menu 2013

You did it again.... OCEAN ROOM!

I and my girls went for a girls night out to our favorite and BEST Japanese restaurant in Sydney!
(Last post about Ocean Room is here)

Big big thanks to Mildy, Ocean Room Manager, for the fabulous night.

We got there at 6:30, starting the night with a glass of nice & cold champagne:-)
We decided to go for the usual "Raita's Tasting Menu"
Pretty busy for Thursday night, still gorgeous view of Opera House.... I knew it would be a great night!

Starting with fresh Oysters, Rice crust in dashi & green tea with Umeboshi. Very sensitive, very Japanese.... and I wonder if Western could actually get these sensitive tastes, hoping they are not adding salt and kill these gorgeous dishes though..... 

Next plat was totally different - more Italian & Japanese fusion! But I have to say... I have never experienced like this dish. I can't explain what they are... you gotta try and taste it! 

Those Tomato chips are die for! 

Dishes continue with gorgeous home-made crunchy fish cake and bagna cauda vegetable home-made anchovy & garlic bath. OMG, you will have to try this anchovy & garlic oil!!!! SO YUM!!! 

You can seriously keep eating just steam vegetables with this oil. It doesn't taste strong anchovy but enough saltiness. Wow I loved it!!! 

This dish is called "ONSEN", hot spring in Japanese. Because Bagna Cauda means "Hot Bath (dip)" in Italian:-) Cute humor in a menu, I like that! 

Fish & Meat dishes to continue. Start with Miso cod and simmered pork belly with tofu which is my highlight of the night and finish with the main wagyu steak & king prawn. 

This simmered pork belly was so soft and it's melt in your mouth. The soup is so milky and tasty!!! Perfect dish for autumn, I really wanted to have another one. It's wrapped with special clean wraps and when it's served your waiter opens it for you. Oh my gosh... my mouth is watering again by remembering the dish lol 

The desert was old Japanese favorite, amaguri chestnut mont blanc:-) 

I am so full by then. 

Again, every single dish was divine! 

Oh, I should mention what we drunk too! 

We had NSW Hunter Valley Semillon and Sake from Iwate for fish, ah this Sake was so mild and easy to drink, yummy!!!! 

And don' forget this red - Brick Kiln Shiraz 2010 from SA. I really liked it. 

Oh - you could actually buy them online :-) $25 per a bottle?! AWESOME!!!

いつもお世話になってる、ﾏｲﾙﾃﾞｨｰ (ﾏﾈｰｼﾞｬｰ)、今回もやっぱり素晴らしかったっす！
本当にありがとぉー！めちゃくちゃ美味しくって楽しい夜でした♡

今回の秋のﾃｲｽﾃｨﾝｸﾞﾒﾆｭｰはｲﾀﾘｱﾝをちょっと感じました。
毎度ですが、とっても新鮮なお魚、お肉、お野菜で素材の味を存分にいかしていて、さすがです！

ｵｲｽﾀｰとおしゃれなお茶漬けとｼｬﾝﾊﾟﾝから始まり、今回初ﾊﾞｯﾌｧﾛｰﾁｰｽﾞとｵﾘｰﾌﾞが液体状になってどーやって作ったのか全くわからないけど薄い皮包まれてる物にﾄﾏﾄﾁｯﾌﾟｽなどなど混ぜて食べるﾌﾟﾚｰﾄを頂き、ﾊﾟﾘﾊﾟﾘのﾌｨｯｼｭｹｰｷと続いていきます。

ｼｬﾝﾊﾟﾝから白にかえて（今回は地元ﾊﾝﾀｰﾊﾞﾘｰのｾﾐﾆｮﾝ)、出て来たのは今（か、ちょっと前？）に人気なお野菜のﾊﾞｰﾆｬｶｳﾀﾞ!なんとｱﾝﾁｮﾋﾞは６ヶ月かかって作られたﾎｰﾑﾒｲﾄﾞ!このがやばい！！！うまい！！！！ｱﾝﾁｮﾋﾞとﾆﾝﾆｸが効いててどんだけでも温野菜がいけちゃう☆お料理名も「温泉」なんて、ちょっとｼｬﾚが入ってて可愛らしい♪

お魚は定番のﾀﾗと甘ﾐｿｿｰｽとﾘｿﾞｯﾄ☆これ、超おいしい！でも！！！それを上回る一品が出て来てしまいました。豚の角煮？なのかな？特別な手作り豆腐と豆乳煮てあって、袋ごと閉じた状態で出されます。それをｳｪｲﾀｰさんが目の前で切ってくれます。その瞬間の匂いがーーーーたまらない！！めちゃくちゃやらかくって味もしっかりしみ込んでて、絶品！！！！これが今回のﾒﾆｭｰで一番好きぃ♡♡

一緒に飲んだ岩手のお酒も美味しかったぁ〜なんかﾏｲﾙﾄﾞですっごく飲みやすくって、ｺｸｺｸいけちゃた！

ここで、お酒を赤にします。この赤、超好きな味だった！！すっごく深くって、でも飲みやすい。もっと飲めた（笑）で、ちょっと調べたら１ﾀﾞｰｽ$３００で買える？！超安いじゃん！！！Brick Kiln Shiraz 2010 これ、お勧めだわぁー☆誰か、一緒に買おうよぉぉー！（じゃないと一人で１ﾀﾞｰｽ飲んじゃうよぅ）と、一緒に食べた和牛ｽﾃｰｷとｴﾋﾞﾌﾗｲもとっても美味しかったゎ♡

この時点で、もうお腹ははち切れそう。。。だけど、ﾃﾞｻﾞｰﾄはやっぱり別腹☆

出て来たのは女子必見の甘過ぎないﾓﾝﾌﾞﾗﾝ♡♡日本のこういう繊細なﾃﾞｻﾞｰﾄってなかなか食べれないからうれしいぃ！！

今回もやっぱり裏切られなかった！！！ｵｰｼｬﾝﾙｰﾑ｡｡｡｡素敵すぎ！

早くまた行きたいっ！次の女子会はどーしようねぇ？
